Ladakh MP attacks Congress, says 'Its Nehru's mistake'

NEW DELHI: Jamyang Sering Namgyal, a BJP MP from Ladakh, has hit the Congress hard. Namgyal said that under the Congress rule, the region (Ladakh) was not given equal attention in defence policies. He said that this is the reason why the neighbouring country China occupied the area of Damchok sector.

Speaking to the media, Namgyal said, "Former PM Jawaharlal Nehru adopted a 'forward policy' which said that we should move one inch to China. But during its implementation, it became a 'backward policy'. The Chinese Army continued to infiltrate into our territory and we continued to retreat. He said the Congress and Jawaharlal Nehru are the reason for the bad situation in Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir today.

Jamyang Sering Namgyal recently came to the discussion after a zealous speech on Section 370 in Parliament. Namgyal has been elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time. Namgyal claimed that the Congress governments had destroyed Kashmir by following the policy of "appeasement" in hostile circumstances and also caused great damage to Ladakh.
