New Delhi: The Union Law Minister criticised Section 370 and termed it as an important roadblock in the peace of the state. He said, Section 370 had become a security cover for terrorists. Therefore, it was very important to remove it. The Government has taken a decision in the interest of the country as well as the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He was talking to the media on the sidelines of the inauguration of the 17th All India Meeting of state legal services authorities at Nagpur in Maharashtra.

Prasad said that under Section 370, there was no anti-corruption law nor the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. Not only that, the manual scavenging system was still there. What was this Kashmir? He said, after taking stock of the situation, the administration will take further measures in the state. "We must understand that this was a temporary provision and it has been removed in the interest of the country. We always strive for the security of the country and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

We want Jammu and Kashmir to progress. On Pakistan's threat, he said he would get a proper response. On Pakistan PM Imran Khan's statement that India is preparing to carry out a Balakot-like attack in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Prasad said, "We don't pay attention to what they say." However, any action taken by the Pakistan side will be responded to strongly. India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is on high alert over its security and will respond appropriately to terrorist activities.
