Lalu Yadav's bail plea to be heard on November 29

Ranchi: Hearing on bail plea of Lalu Yadav, who has been going on for a long time, on 22 November 2019 (Language) Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's bail petition in the Jharkhand High Court embezzlement from the Dumka treasury related to the fodder scam. Could not be done. Due to the death of advocate N Hoda, the full bench expressed condolences and adjourned the hearing. Now Lalu's bail plea will be heard on 29 November. Lalu Yadav's bail plea was to be heard in front of Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh's bench on Friday afternoon, but it could not happen due to the condolence meeting. The CBI has filed its reply in this matter before the court two days ago, in which it has strongly opposed the grant of bail to Lalu in this case.

According to the information received, the CBI has opposed Lalu Prasad's bail saying that Lalu Prasad has filed bail in the Dumka treasury case. In this case, Lalu has spent only 22 months in jail. In such a situation, even half of the sentence is not being completed. While the Supreme Court has also rejected his petition in this case. As far as his health is concerned, the doctors of RIMS are constantly monitoring his health. At the moment, there is no threat to his life. Therefore, they should not be granted bail. Whereas, Lalu Prasad was requested for bail citing increasing age and poor health. The hearing of the case was postponed to November 22, on 8 November 2019, when the CBI sought time to file its reply in the matter.

Sources said that Jharkhand High Court Judge Aparesh Kumar Singh had heard the plea of Lalu's lawyers in the case on November 8, requesting him to be granted bail mainly citing Lalu's age and his health. . Lalu is a convict in four different cases of fodder scam and is currently admitted to RIMS Hospital through Birsa Munda prison and undergoing treatment. Earlier, Lalu was granted bail by the High Court in July in the case of embezzlement of crores of rupees from Deoghar treasury. The Supreme Court has made a provision to grant bail on half the sentence. In this light, the High Court has granted him bail in other cases so far.
