'Land Acquisition Act 2013' will be implemented in this state, CM announced

Ranchi: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has announced to implement the Land Acquisition Act 2013 in the state. Addressing the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that whenever any land is acquired in the state, it will be done under the Land Acquisition Act 2013. Apart from this, there will be no land acquisition under any other law.

In fact, there was a constant demand to implement the Land Acquisition Act 2013 by Barkagaon MLA Amba Prasad. Amba Prasad, while raising the issue due to the question hour in the assembly, had said that in Jharkhand state acquisition by mining companies is being done arbitrarily by ignoring the law and rules. After the 2013 of Amba Prasad, the companies that started mining had demanded the implementation of the Land Acquisition Act 2013 for payment of compensation.

On the demand of Amba Prasad, CM Hemant Soren had said that the matter is related to coal mining and at present land acquisition is done under CBA Act, LA Act 1894. Due to this, Soren had assured Prasad that a policy decision would be taken on this soon. Addressing the house on Wednesday, Chief Minister Soren said that MLA Amba Prasad, whose area has a lot of colliery and there are constant problems related to compensation, so now the land to be acquired includes the Land Acquisition Act made by the UPA government. 2013 will be implemented.
