Hyderabad: A district court on Wednesday convicted life imprisonment to a 25-year-old man, while his associate was sentenced to under one-year imprisonment for the murder of an advocate in Chennapuram near Jawaharnagar in 2016. According to the police, one A Uday Kumar (47) is an Advocate and his father A Nakuludu is an ex-serviceman who acquired 5 acres of land of Chennapuram, Shamirpet Mandal from the government after his retirement. also read: Hyderabad: 5-year-old girl drowned in swimming pool at Alwal Advocate A Uday Kumar, 47, was murdered at his farm in Chennapuram on June 25, 2016, by D Lokesh Babu. Later, Lokesh put the body in the advocate’s Maruti 800 and drove it to the outskirts of Keesara Dayara and set it on fire. Uday’s father A Nakuludu had earlier given his five-acre land in Chennapuram on lease to Anjaneyulu, uncle of Lokesh. When he wanted to sell the land for Rs 25 lakh, Lokesh evinced interest in the land parcel and even signed an agreement. Accordingly, Nakuludu executed a notarized agreement of sale but did not inform Uday Kumar. But, somehow Uday came to know about the sale and had been confronting Lokesh which made him irritated and decided to eliminate Uday. Consequently, on June 25, 2016, Uday went to the disputed land and picked up a quarrel with him. Lokesh attacked him with a sickle on the neck, causing his instant death. Lokesh contacted his friend, Suman Reddy, who helped him shift the body into Uday’s car. Lokesh drove the car to the outskirts of Keesara Dayara, poured petrol on it and set it ablaze. After completion of the investigation, a charge sheet was filed in the court and XIII Administration of Justice Court at LB Nagar convicted the Lokesh Babu to undergo life imprisonment and Suman Reddy for a year and imposed fine of Rs 2,000 on both the accused. also read: 7-year-old girl raped and murdered in Coimbatore
