World Habitat Day is celebrated on the first Monday of October in the whole world. This time it will be celebrated on the first date of October. It was officially designated by the United Nations and was first celebrated in 1986. The aim of this day is mainly to focus on the condition of our cities and towns and the basic human right to adequate shelter.

The main purpose of this day is to remind the world of their collective responsibility for the residence of future generations, remembering this day, it is said that this day is also to remind the world that we all have our Cities and towns have the power and responsibility to shape the future.

Emphasis is being given on celebrating this day in countries including the world, while information is also being provided through government offices to increase awareness and reach out to people. The UNHSP has been awarding housing awards worldwide since 1989. At the same time, these awards are given to those who make a significant contribution in areas related to human habitation. Every year UN Habitat organizes a number of activities to promote the theme of Housing Day and to raise awareness in terms of promoting housing, in which central government, local government, civil society, private sector to participate.
