The day of October 5 is celebrated as World Teacher's Day in more than 100 countries of the world. It was announced by UNESCO in the year 1994. The purpose of this event is to raise public support in favor of teachers and to ensure that teachers continue to meet the needs of the generations by encouraging them.

The theme of World Teacher's Day this year is "Empowering teachers to teach with freedom, so that every child and youth has an opportunity to learn freely."
