Seven time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. The Champion will miss this weekend's Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain due to positive test for Covid-19. He has been ruled out of the upcoming Sakhir Grand Prix, in Bahrain. The champion ended up with pole finish in the crash-marred Bahrain Grand Prix and was enthusiastically looking for another podium finish in Sakhir. After testing positive for the virus, Hamilton is now self-isolating as per COVID-19 protocols. The Mercedes driver returned three negative tests last week but began symptomatic on Monday. A statement issued by Mercedes-AMG F1 Team confirms that Hamilton has been ruled out of Sakhir GP. Hamilton on Monday woke up with mild symptoms of covid 19 and was informed that a contact, prior to his arrival in Bahrain, had also tested positive. After couple of tests, it was confirmed that Hamilton has been tested positive for coronavirus. Hamilton's team yet to announce his replacement driver for Sakhir GP soon. Stoffel Vandoorne and Esteban Gutierrez are the team's reserve drivers as of now. This is the first ever Grand Prix Hamilton has missed in his 14-season career, ending a record run of 265 consecutive starts. Hamilton already crossed his record-equalling seventh world championship three weeks ago in Turkey. Hamilton is the third F1 driver to get infected Covid-19 this season after Racing Point's Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll.
