Liquor scam: High court notice to CBI on Manish Sisodia's bail plea, seeks reply

New Delhi: Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, imprisoned in Delhi's famous liquor scam, has filed a petition in the High Court for interim bail. He has sought bail in the court on the grounds of his wife's health. On this, the court issued a notice to the CBI and summoned the reply.

The court asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit a status report on the petition. Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma asked the CBI to submit the report on Thursday. On the same day, the court will also hear the regular bail plea of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia. Meanwhile, Sisodia's lawyer said that his wife's health required immediate attention. Along with this, he urged the court to grant interim bail to the former deputy CM.

To this, the CBI counsel said that it would not be possible to submit the report on Thursday. After this, the court has asked him to make an effort to submit the report by Thursday, so that the application can be heard along with the regular bail plea. Let us tell you that the CBI arrested the former Deputy CM on February 26 after several rounds of questioning in the matter of corruption in Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. Earlier on March 31, the lower court had rejected his bail plea in this case.
