The Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has been appointed as the Indian Super League club East Bengal's head coach. He wants to win trophies by playing the game right way. During a virtual press conference, he told, "My coaching philosophy is that we want to be competitive, we want to play the right way and we want to get the right results. We will create a team which will work very well. We will work hard. We are going to be a possession-based team”. East Bengal’s participation in Indian Super league was announced late and there was a delay in the completion of formalities, due to change in club owner. It indicates delay in training compared to others. But the coach said with the hardwork of the team and knowing the level of difficulty, we will be competitive and get the results, “let’s be competitive, let's go and match teams, let's go and get the right results”. He added pre-preparation means nothing but the performance at the field matters. Doing the right stuff matters lot for a team. Robbie fowler is not alone and is equipped with a good set of coaches with Renedy Singh former Indian Footballer as his assistant coach. Former Man City midfielder Anthony Grant is the other assistant to Fowler at the Red and Golds. Terry McPhilips is also with him, well known for bringing lot of young kids into the football. About Renedy singh, "We know how good Renedy (Singh) is. We know how good a player he was. We also know how good a coach he is. For me to have a great team around me makes the club try and be as successful as quickly as possible”, said Fowler. Under his training with a group of coaches East Bengal team and the people is expecting a lot of trophies to showcase.
