L&T signs MoU with TN govt to build data centre at Kanchipuram

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday, November 24,  reached a settlement an agreement with the Tamil Nadu government to build a data centre in the state.

Over the next five years, L&T will build data centres with a capacity of 90 megawatts and associated facilities in Kanchipuram. The project is expected to employ roughly 1,100 people, with 600 direct and 500 indirect jobs.  Larsen & Toubro has inked an MoU with the Government of Tamil Nadu to develop a data centre in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, according to a BSE filing.

On a best-effort basis, the Tamil Nadu government would offer uninterrupted power supply and other infrastructural support, resulting in concrete economic and social advantages for the people of the state.

"We are happy to work with the Government of Tamil Nadu to accelerate this progress by developing a data centre that would further ignite development by attracting investments and creating jobs for the people of Kanchipuram," said L&T CEO and MD S N Subrahmanyan.

L&T will build establish data centres in Kanchipuram to offer end-to-end data centre solutions, including multi-cloud management and cyber security services, digital transformation integration services, and application integration services.
