MP Rajya Sabha election battle will be interesting, Scindia will face Digvijay Singh

Bhopal: Election activities have also started amidst Corona crisis. Election Commission has announced elections for 24 Rajya Sabha seats in ten states. Elections will be held on June 19 on all seats. In addition to 4 seats in Andhra Pradesh, 4 in Gujarat, 2 in Jharkhand, 3 in Madhya Pradesh, 3 in Rajasthan and 1 each in Manipur and Meghalaya, 1 in Arunachal Pradesh, 4 in Karnataka and Mizoram are vacant in June-July. These elections will be held in 1 seat.

The most interesting contest is seen in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka because, in both these states, Congress has faced a huge revolt, which has also slipped power from its hands. The contest of Madhya Pradesh is even more interesting because Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was the big face of Congress here, is now in the BJP camp. Scindia did not join the BJP alone, more than twenty MLAs left the Congress and ousted the Kamal Nath government.

Now Jyotiraditya Scindia is trying his luck as a candidate for Rajya Sabha elections. On the other hand, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh is also in the fray. There are four candidates in three Rajya Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. The competition has become very interesting. Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sumer Singh Solanki are contesting from BJP, while the Congress has nominated Digvijay Singh and Phool Singh Baraiya. Congress has given priority to Digvijay Singh, in which case his seat is being considered safe. On the other hand, BJP has also put Jyotiraditya Scindia at the forefront. It is believed that both these leaders will be able to reach the Rajya Sabha, but there is a screw up for the third seat. The entire equation has deteriorated after the resignation of 22 Congress MLAs.
