Rajya Sabha elections postponed due to Corona epidemic in the country will now be held on June 19. Four candidates are in the fray for 3 Rajya Sabha seats from Rajasthan. The election process for the three seats started on 6 March. The last date for filing nomination papers was 13 March and the nomination papers were scrutinized on 16 March. In the meantime, the outbreak of Corona epidemic increased and the election process was stopped in between. Now according to the new schedule, elections will be held on May 19.

The total number of MLAs of CPI (M) and National Democratic Party is 8. Of these, the CPI (M) is with the Congress and the National Democratic Party is in support of the BJP. According to the fixed formula, Congress needs 102 votes of first preference to win 2 seats, which it has. BJP also needs 102 votes for the first preference for the victory of both candidates, but it has 76 in addition to the supporters besides itself. Only one seat is seen in BJP's account.
