In a notable shift in policy, the Madhya Pradesh cabinet has decided that state ministers will now be responsible for paying their own income taxes. This change overturns a 1972 rule where the state government covered these tax payments. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the cabinet unanimously agreed to this proposal during a recent meeting. The idea was suggested by Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, who emphasized the importance of financial accountability within the government. "All ministers will now be accountable for their income tax payments, which include taxes on their salaries and allowances," Chief Minister Yadav stated. This decision reflects the government's commitment to promoting fiscal responsibility and transparency. Providing information about the cabinet meeting, Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the Mohan government will soon introduce a bill in the assembly session for the reform of prisoners in jail. This proposal has been approved by the cabinet. Today, in the cabinet meeting, the government made several significant decisions. The government has allowed graduates from the agriculture sector to conduct soil testing. Farmers will be informed that agriculture graduates will perform soil testing after analyzing their soil. The government will cover the cost of 45 soil tests. Additionally, the government has revised the rules regarding plantation using CSR funds. Plantations can now be established on areas ranging from one hectare to five hectares with CSR funds. The Madhya Pradesh government will also provide scholarships to students studying in registered Sainik schools in Madhya Pradesh, even if they continue their education in another state.
