Edited and uploaded fake video of CM Shivraj, journalist arrested

Bhopal: The Crime Branch of Madhya Pradesh Police has arrested a Mumbai-based YouTuber and journalist for allegedly uploading an edited video of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the new excise policy on YouTube and other social media platforms. It is being told that after the announcement of the new liquor policy by the state government, the accused Iqbal Parvez had posted a fake video.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Crime Branch Bhopal, Amit Kumar, said, "We received a complaint about him on Thursday, following which 45-year-old independent journalist Iqbal Parvez has been arrested from Mira Road in Thane district near Maharashtra. He was brought to Bhopal on Saturday after his arrest. Parvez is accused of editing the statements of CM Shivraj Singh and making fake videos. The accused had posted the video on other social media platforms, including YouTube. A case has been registered against Parvez under IPC and relevant sections of the information technology act.

According to reports, Parvez, who has been a student of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), is originally from Bihar and has worked as a journalist in several national channels. He has been working in Mumbai for the last 15 years. The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that at present, Parvez is an independent journalist and posts his news on YouTube. Shivpal Kushwaha, an assistant to the Commissioner of Police (ACP), said Iqbal Parvez had shared a video on a YouTube channel called 'Sach Sabse Tez', titled 'What is the BJP's Chief Ministers saying'. In the video, an old video of CM Shivraj Chouhan has been edited and linked to his statement for the new excise policy. He also said that after drinking alcohol, people will raise slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram'. During interrogation, he has admitted to editing the video of CM Chouhan's statement and uploading it. Iqbal is being questioned in connection with how many more people are involved in this case, what was his motive for doing such an act.
