CHENNAI: In the wake of a surge in cases across Tamil Nadu and the country, the Madras High Court will begin strictly following Covid-19 guidelines from Monday. For lawyers, court personnel, litigants, and all others who access the court premises, the court has made wearing masks, keeping a safe distance, and maintaining regular sanitation mandatory. In a notice, the High Court registry stated that litigants would only be allowed into the court building if their presence was absolutely necessary. All entrants must have their temperatures checked and their hands sanitised. Overcrowding or gathering on the court grounds is also prohibited, according to the notice.
