Maharashtra election: BJP in readiness to surround Opposition leaders in their stronghold

Mumbai: The assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana after the Lok Sabha elections are a big test for the ruling BJP. Maharashtra is a politically important state. So BJP is not leaving any stone unturned here. The BJP has planned to surround Congress and NCP veterans in their homes here. Since both the opposition parties are in a shambles, the BJP has marked the seats of their senior leaders, whom they want to win.

According to BJP sources, the party has full force in Baramati, which is called NCP's stronghold, including former Congress chief minister Ashok Chavan (Bhokar), former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan (Karad South) and Praniti (Solapur Central), daughter of former Congress minister Sushil Shinde. It is fixed.

Although the BJP is also eyeing the Sangamner of the sugarcane belt and the urban and rural seats of Latur, the Congress leaders are very strong in these three places. It is very difficult for the BJP to make a dent here. The state president of Congress is Balasaheb Thorat in Gamner and is the traditional seat of his family. Election records also show that no party other than Congress ever won here.

Balasaheb Thorat won from here in 2009 and 2014. Similarly, in Latur, the victory of Deshmukh brothers Amit and Dheeraj is being confirmed. Former CM Vilasrao Deshmukh's elder son Amit is in the fray from Latur town and Dheeraj is from Latur rural. Therefore, the BJP has set eyes on the seat of Sushil Kumar Shinde's daughter, including Ashok Chavan, Prithviraj Chavan.

According to the BJP's strategy, all three senior leaders are entangled in their seats. The BJP is also putting full power on the Baramati seat. Its leaders believe that just as the Congress fort was defeated by defeating Rahul in Amethi in the Lok Sabha elections, the Pawar family can be tasted of defeat in Baramati. Here Ajit Pawar, nephew of party president Sharad Pawar, is in the fray.
