Lucknow: A significant accident occurred on Saturday near the village of Gokan on the Mohammadi-Shahjahanpur state highway in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. A contracted bus overturned into a ditch after a sudden head-on collision with a car, resulting in injuries to 21 people traveling in both vehicles. The car's driver, in critical condition, was referred to the district hospital in Shahjahanpur. The accident happened on Sunday around 11 am. The bus, contracted by Gola Depot, was coming from Shahjahanpur and collided head-on with a car heading towards Mohammadi near the village of Gokan. The impact was so severe that the bus overturned into a deep ditch, and the car was severely damaged. Nearby villagers quickly arrived at the scene to help, rescuing all those trapped in the wreckage. Upon receiving the information, police and administrative officials dispatched multiple ambulances to transport the injured to the government hospital for treatment. The injured are currently receiving medical care, with their conditions reported as stable except for Pradeep, the son of Harjinder from the village of Ramalakshana, whose condition remains critical. He has been transferred to the District Hospital in Shahjahanpur, while the others are being treated at the Community Health Center (CHC) and private hospitals.
