New Delhi: Cases of new variant Omicron of corona virus are also on the rise in the US. More than 40 cases of Omicron have been reported in the Us so far. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) here has given a number of information on Omicron based on preliminary data. According to the CDC Chief, more than three-fourths of all people found infected with Omicron here have been vaccinated. However, all these people were just marginally ill. Most of them were young and about a third of them had international travel. In an interview, dr rochelle waleensky, director of CDC, said that the data is currently very limited and the agency is working on gathering more information in this regard. When booster shots were recently approved, Valensky said, 'Usually we know that the more mutations a variant has, the more immunity you need. We want to ensure that everyone's immunity is strong. We're creating our guidelines accordingly,' Said Walensky, 'this disease is mild. All the cases that have been reported so far have only symptoms such as phlegm, chest tightness and fatigue. Only one person needed to be hospitalized, but so far no one has died of this variant.' CDC say some cases of Omicron may be serious as time passes, as its data is currently of the initial stage. According to WHO, Omicron variant was first identified in South Africa last month. Since then, cases have been found in 57 countries. More than three-fourths of Omicron patients were vaccinated and a third had recently taken booster doses, Said Walensky. It takes about two weeks for the booster dose to be fully effective. Some of them had overdosed on their vaccine at the same time.
