Recently, a case of crime has come to light from Jharkhand. A court in the case has sentenced a 56-year-old man to 25 years in prison for raping a 16-year-old girl in Simdega district last year. Additional District Judge Neeraj Kumar Srivastava on Wednesday pronounced the verdict after the conviction of Stanisal Bah under sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code. A fine of Rs 60,000 was also imposed on the accused in the case and in addition, Public Prosecutor (APP) Subhash Prasad said that "if he fails to pay the fine, he will have to face a jail term of one more year." According to reports, on October 26, 2018, the mother of a 16-year-old girl filed a complaint at Jaldega police station, accusing Her of raping her daughter after the case was registered. In her complaint, she said, "he threatened to face serious consequences if he told anyone about the incident." During the course of the investigation, it was found that a grocery shop owner lured her with biscuits and snacks before raping her and then came to the fore when she got pregnant and gave birth to a child.
