Man stabbed to death for intervening in fight in Delhi

New Delhi: A 22-year-old man lost his life for intervening in a fight between a minor and his cousin in East Delhi's Trilokpuri area.

According to the report, the victim was identified as Akash Kumar who succumbed to injuries on Saturday. He died days after being stabbed by a 16-year-old boy from his locality.

The report suggests that the victim had gone to resolve a tussle between the accused and his cousin over a cricket match. However, the minor did not take it well and took offence. He then came with a kitchen knife and stabbed Kumar multiple times. 

As per report of Times of India, Jasmeet Singh, the Deputy Commissioner of police said that the Indian Penal Code Section 302 has been added under the FIR and appropriate legal action was being taken.

According to the source,  when the two teenagers got into a scuffle over a petty issue. Kumar, who lived nearby, saw his cousin fight and went there to resolve. But, the minor returned with a kitchen knife and stabbed him. Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he had been under treatment for days but he finally succumbed to injuries on Saturday.
