Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 4 wickets at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer who smashed a brilliant half-century and helped RCB bag a consolation win in their final game of the season. Hetmyer shined with the bat Stadium as he slammed 75 runs off 47 balls and combined with Gurkeerat Mann (65) to post a match-winning partnership.

After his match-winning effort, Hetmyer said that it was a little tough for him to adapt and that he has learnt a lot from the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers during his time with the franchise this season. He said, "I have learned a lot from Virat and ABD and even the coaches. RCB are a fantastic side and a fantastic franchise. I am just trying to take my game one step at a time and just try to move up in whatever way I can.”

Talking about match, While RCB were playing for pride, Sunrisers were in a do-or-die situation with a playoffs spot on the line. Riding on skipper Kane Williamson's 70 off 43 balls and crucial contributions from Martin Guptill (30) and Vijay Shankar (27), SRH posted 175/7 in 20 overs. Hetmyer and Mann took the game away from SRH ending all their hopes of making it to the knockouts.
