"To stop the spread of Covid-19, we are monitoring the environment, sewage, and people while operating in alert mode. RNA Virus was found in the sewage samples in Delhi and Mumbai," Mandaviya had said. He also urged people to wear masks, stay away from crowded areas, and act in a Covid-appropriate manner. In response to the COVID alarm caused by a rise in infections in many nations, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare agreed on Saturday to organise simulated drills at all medical facilities throughout the nation on December 27. This is to guarantee preparation in the event of a spike in COVID cases in India, as well as the availability of oxygen assistance and ICU beds, among other preparedness measures. The Ministry states that the exercise's goal is to make sure these healthcare facilities are operationally prepared for the management of COVID. The main emphasis, as per the description of the criteria during the mock drills, will be on the bed capacity at the medical institutions, including isolation, oxygen-supported, and ICU beds. A high-level meeting to assess the COVID-19 situation in the nation was also presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (December 22). He warned against complacency and emphasised the importance of testing and strengthening the surveillance measures, particularly at international airports. He stressed COVID-appropriate behavior at all times, particularly in view of the upcoming festive season, including wearing masks in crowded public places.
