Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan Makers to resume the shooting

Till now, we all know that the government has given permission to resume shooting of films. A new report has come out stating that the makers of Mani Ratnam's Magnum Opus Ponniyin Cellvan are ready to resume shooting for the film soon. Apparently, the producers plan to resume shooting in Sri Lanka. However, no official announcement has been made about it yet.

Jointly controlled by Laika Productions and Madras Talkies, the film is written and directed by Ekka Dukka filmmaker Mani Ratnam. AR Rahman has composed the music for the historical flick. The film will be released in two parts and will be based on the Tamil novel Ponniyin Selvan, which told the story of the Chola empire. Along with the ensemble cast of the star cast, Ponniyin Selvan is one of the most awaited Kollywood films.

Trisha Krishnan is playing the lead role in this, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen in Gray Shade. It also stars Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi and Karthi in the lead roles. Other young actors including Aishwarya Laxmi, Ashwin Kakumanu will also be seen playing important roles. Many veteran actors including Jayaram, Lal, Mohan Raman, Riaz Khan, Vijaykumar will be seen playing some of the lead roles. Recently, it was reported that Hal Nizhalgal 'Ravi will also appear in a leading role in the film. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the shooting of the film was stopped due to the producers being on second schedule.
