New Delhi: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, visited the Golden Temple on Sunday to pay obeisance and offer prayers for the release of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal from jail. Sisodia, who recently received bail from the Supreme Court in the excise policy case, was joined by his family members during the visit. Speaking to reporters at the Golden Temple complex, the former Delhi deputy chief minister expressed his gratitude to the Almighty and revealed that he prayed for Kejriwal's release. Kejriwal is currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail in connection with a corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam, which is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Sisodia, reflecting on his own 17-month imprisonment in Tihar, claimed that his incarceration was part of a conspiracy and that he consistently prayed for the triumph of truth. Sisodia attributed his release to the blessings of God and the justice delivered by the Supreme Court, as well as the protections offered by the country's Constitution. After arriving in Amritsar, Sisodia praised the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government for its "excellent work" in the state. At the Golden Temple, Mann lauded Sisodia for revolutionizing the country's education sector and expressed hope that Kejriwal would also be released soon. Mann also accused the BJP of attempting to undermine the AAP by imprisoning its leaders, but emphasized that Sisodia's visit to the Golden Temple was purely spiritual, with no political agenda involved. The visit was also attended by several prominent AAP leaders, including ministers Laljit Singh Bhullar, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Harbhajan Singh, and MLA Jeevan Jyot Kaur.
