Bollywood's well-known actress Manisha Koirala is celebrating her birthday on August 16. She was born on 16 August 1970 in Kathmandu, Nepal. She belongs to a large political family in Nepal but the actress has made her career not in politics but in the film world. Manisha's father Prakash Koirala has been a minister in Nepal Government. In the 1950s and 60s, the grandfather of the actress BP alias Bisweshar Prasad Koirala has been the PM of Nepal. Even though Manisha is from Nepal, though her childhood has passed in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. She has studied in Basant Kanya College, Varanasi. She has done further studies from Army Public School of Dhaula Kuan in Delhi. Manisha wanted to become a doctor in childhood, but modeling opened the doors of the film industry for her. In the year 1991, she made her debut with Subhash Ghai's movie Saudagar. This movie was the blockbuster of that year. Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film 1942: A Love Story, which came out in the year 1994, proved to be good for her career. In her film career, the actress has done 'Bombay', 'Akela Hum Akela Tum', 'Mana', 'Dil Se', 'Khamoshi', 'Gupt', 'Kutche Dhaage' and 'Lajja' among others. On 19 June 2010, the actress married Nepali businessman Samrat Dahan. However, this marriage did not last long and they got divorced in 2012 after 2 years. After this divorce, the condition of Manisha started deteriorating. She was admitted to a hospital in Kathmandu. After this she came to a hospital in Mumbai for treatment. In the last year of 2012, it was found that she has ovary cancer. She went to America for the treatment of cancer. After several months of treatment, Manisha won the battle against cancer.
