Eve-teasing of women, attack on police and now main accused of Jahangirpuri violence released

New Delhi: Mohammad Ansar, the main accused of inciting violence in Delhi's Jahangirpuri on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, has a long criminal history. He is counted among the people with the lousiest character in the area. His crime began in 2009 when he was first arrested under the Arms Act for illegal possession. The 35-year-old has been arrested by the Delhi Police for inciting violence. In this case, when the police were taking him to the court on Sunday, he made a mockery of the law by taking action against Pushpa's 'Pushpa Jukega Nahi.' Perhaps he felt, as if he had escaped the law to this day, even now nothing would be wrong with him.

The Delhi Police dossier says about Ansar, who runs an illegal liquor and gambling racket in the area, has been arrested on several occasions. He was jailed after being arrested under the Arms Act in 2009. He was arrested in 2013 for allegedly entering the house of a woman in an inebriated state. At this time, a case was registered against Ansar for threatening to hurt the woman and for outraging the modesty of the woman. But he came out again.

The police told the media that Ansar was notorious for a gambling trajectory. A police officer said, "He is an organizer as well as a participant. He was booked under the Gambling Act in 2011 and under the Gambling Act in 2019. He was also arrested for assaulting a police officer in 2018. Ansar was booked under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to prevent public servant from discharging his duty) and 186 (voluntarily obstructing any public servant) of IPC. Not only this, in view of the long criminal history of Ansar, the main accused in the Jahangirpuri violence, he was also taken into preventive custody by the police several times.''
