Los Angeles: Even if the next Harley Quinn appearance in the DC Universe is currently unknown, Oscar contender Margot Robbie already has her heart set on a relationship between the anti-hero and poison ivy. During her "Babylon" press tour, Robbie revealed to ComicBook.com that she has been attempting to start the LGBT romance for years, reports "Variety". Robbie replied, "I've been campaigning for that for years. "You have no idea how ardently I have pushed for that. And I want it." When questioned about who she had in mind to play Poison Ivy, Robbie replied: "To be really honest, I always think of Poison Ivy from the comics. It's not something I can really envision an actress doing." Harley Quinn won't be portrayed by Robbie the next time she makes an appearance on the big screen. For the eagerly awaited "Joker" sequel, officially titled "Joker: Folie a Deux," Lady Gaga will take on the role opposite Joaquin Phoenix. In October, Robbie remarked about Gaga taking up the part, "It makes me so pleased because I said from the very beginning that all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those roles the way... like Macbeth or Batman always gets handed from great actor to great actor." "Someone gets to play their Macbeth or their Batman," someone said. Robbie went on: "I believe that female roles are underrepresented, and Queen Elizabeth I is one that I had the honour of playing in a few stories. Wow, Cate Blanchett did Queen Elizabeth I, I thought. I now get to. It's an honour to have established a foundation that makes Harley one of those characters that other actors can try out for a while. And I have no doubt that (Lady Gaga) will do something amazing with it." Warner Bros. will release "Joker: Folie a Deux" on October 4, 2024.
