Market Watch: Gold rises by Rs 177; silver falls Rs 1,112

New Delhi: According to analysts, gold prices in the national capital jumped by Rs 177 to Rs 47,267 per 10 kilos on Wednesday, in line with advances in the precious metal price on worldwide markets and a decline in the rupee. “ Gold prices remained steady on Wednesday, with spot gold prices at COMEX trading 0.26 percent higher near USD 1,789 per ounce.

The precious gold had finished at Rs 47,090 per 10 grammes in the previous trade. Silver prices, on the other hand, fell by Rs 1,112 to Rs 60,533 per kg, down from Rs 61,645 per kg in the previous transaction.

In early trading on Wednesday, the Indian rupee fell 5 paise to 75.49 against the US dollar. Gold was up to USD 1,789 per ounce on the international market, while silver was down to USD 22.45 per ounce.

Reaching at 58,649.68, the Sensex was up 1,016.03 points, or 1.76 percent, and the Nifty was up 293.10 points, or 1.71 percent, at 17,469.80. About 2270 shares have increased in value, 941 shares have decreased in value, and 121 shares have remained steady.
