The company has discontinued the diesel variants of the Indian automaker Maruti Swift. Maruti Suzuki has removed the diesel variants of its Swift from the company website. As of April 2019, Maruti Suzuki announced that it would discontinue diesel vehicles from April 1, 2020. The Maruti Suzuki Swift was given a Fiat 1.3 litre multi-jet diesel engine. The 1.3-litre diesel engine found in the Maruti Swift came with a capacity of 1,248 cc and it generates 74 bhp power at 4,000rpm and 190 Nm torque at 2,000rpm. This engine comes with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. Apart from the Swift, the same engine was also available in other models of Dzire, Ritz, Ertiga and Maruti.
