Mayawati's nephew Akash Anand has been entrusted with the responsibility of national coordinator.

Two coordinators have been appointed at the national level in the party. The current National Vice President Ramji Gautam will now take over as National Coordinator. Danish Ali has been made the leader of the BSP in the newly formed Lok Sabha. With this, MP Shyam Singh Yadav from Jaunpur Lok Sabha seat will be the Deputy Leader of the BSP in the Lok Sabha. While veteran party leader Satish Chandra Mishra will be the leader of the BSP in the Rajya Sabha.

All the BSP leaders were invited to Sunday's meeting. In a meeting with leaders, party supremo Mayawati took decisions on these posts. Mayawati had called the meeting after a hard-fought defeat in the Lok Sabha elections in which she reviewed the defeat. At the same time, Mayawati made several changes in the party.
