Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former CM Mayawati has questioned Akhilesh Yadav's visit to Azamgarh and meeting Ramakant Yadav. Along with this, Akhilesh has also been surrounded for not meeting Muslim leaders imprisoned in jail without naming anyone. In a tweet on Wednesday, Mayawati has taken a dig at Akhilesh. Mayawati wrote in her tweet that 'It is natural for the Samajwadi Party chief to go to Azamgarh jail and meet the imprisoned party's Bahubali MLA Ramakant Yadav to express his sympathy from all sides, which also reinforces the general perception that SP is the patron party of these types of criminal elements. In another tweet, the BSP chief wrote, 'Is it unfair to ask the question of SP chief by various organizations and common people that why they do not go to jail to meet Muslim leaders, while they allege that in UP BJP government SP Politicians are being imprisoned in jail by implicating them in fake cases. Let me tell you that even before this, Mayawati has been surrounding Akhilesh on the issue of protection of criminals and ignoring Muslim interests. In the past, when Azam Khan had expressed displeasure with Akhilesh Yadav during his stay in jail, Mayawati had attacked Akhilesh on the pretext of Azam's injuries. After the BSP's drubbing in the last assembly elections, Mayawati blamed the SP for it and described the BSP as a true friendly party for the interests of Muslims and the entire society.
