New Delhi: The State Election Commission has rejected 1,085 nomination papers for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Elections (MCD Elections) during the scrutiny process. Yes, and most of the nominations are either nominations of the same candidate more than once, dummy candidates or wrong documents. Let us tell you that now the commission has a total of 1,404 correct nomination papers. Simultaneously, 96 nominations have been kept pending due to a lack of documents. Let us tell you that a total of 2,585 nomination papers were filed for 250 wards. Along with this, let us also inform you that the commission started its scrutiny process from last Tuesday, which continued till Wednesday. A total of more than one thousand nominations have been cancelled during the scrutiny that ended last Wednesday. The 96 nominations which have not been cancelled yet, lack some documents, which have been given time to complete. With this, the candidates have a chance to withdraw their names till 18. Let us tell you that the final list will come on November 19. Let us tell you that a total of 375 nominations of BJP have been cancelled, while 258 are eligible candidates. With this, a total of 449 nominations of AAP have been cancelled and 258 are eligible candidates. At the same time, 144 nominations of Congress have been cancelled and 242 eligible nominations are left. Along with this, 19 nominations of Congress are pending and if they fulfil the deficiency of documents, then they will be considered valid, otherwise, Congress will lose the election without contesting on eight wards. Let us tell you that the voting for the MCD elections will be held on December 04 and the counting of votes will take place on December 07.
