Three foreign nationals entered illegally in India, Meghalaya Police arrested

Shillong: The Meghalaya Police has arrested three foreign nationals during a search at Clarihat in East Jaintia Hills. One has been identified as Ivory Coast and two as citizens of Nigeria. All three foreign nationals entered India illegally. A case has been registered against the three and they have been taken into custody.

According to the police, Nigerian citizens had visited Bangladesh from Africa, but entered India illegally near Agartala on 12 September. From Agartala, he reached Silchar by car and was helped by some people from Bangladesh and India to infiltrate into India. A case has been registered and investigation is being done under the Foreigners Act in this regard. The arrested persons have been identified as Jessica Okenchukwu, Okke Ifechukwu John and Koman Danien of Anambra State, but possess a Ivory Coast passport.

The Meghalaya Police, on the other hand, has achieved great success by campaigning against people related to banned drug trafficking. During the blockade, the police have recovered 10,000 Yaba tablets. The case is of Clarihat in East Jaintia Hills district of the state. Last night, a joint team of Anti Narcotic Task Force, Clarihat Police and Infiltration Special Squad barricaded and conducted a thorough search of the vehicles in which these drugs were found.
