Kolkata: West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has attacked the Modi government on the occasion of International Day of Democracy, saying that 'super emergency' is in force in the country at this time. Mamta Banerjee further said that we should protect the rights and freedoms given by the Constitution.
Mamta Banerjee tweeted that, 'On the occasion of International Democracy Day, we once again pledge to protect constitutional values. In this era of 'Super Emergency,' we have to protect the rights and freedoms that have been given to us by the Constitution of the country. It is noteworthy that West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee has been a vocal critic of the Modi government. Recently, Mamta accused the Center of strangling her government by misusing the 'agencies' and said that even if she had to go to jail, she would not bow down to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Mamta Banerjee, while citing several of her state ministers and party leaders summoned by the CBI, claimed that the BJP is trying to capture Bengal as the TMC opposes and fights against the atrocities of the BJP.
