JAIPUR: A seven-year-old girl was beheaded by her own aunt, who is a teenager, in the Jhinjhwa Phala village at Dungarpur district in in Rajasthan, with a sword when the family was performing prayers. Early on Monday morning, the incident was come into light. The teen's family claimed that she had been acting strangely for the previous two days when they began a three-day prayer ritual from "Hariyali Amavasya" to "Teej." The daughter was performing 'puja' while holding the sword tightly in her hand. When her father and uncle tried to grab her, she attacked them, sending the family into a panic and causing them to flee frantically for their life. This teenage female first drag her niece, who was 7 years old and asleep in her room, before beheading her. The teenager was somehow grasped by the family members. After receiving the information, SHO Govind Singh went to the location and found a 7-year-old girl's body lying outside the house. The police have detained the teen girl, and more inquiries are being conducted. The minor was receiving counselling. Following a complaint by the family members the girl was arrested and an FSL team was called in from Banswara to investigate the matter. The statue of the deity was set up at the house to celebrate 'dashamata vrat' which is observed between 'amavasya' and 'Hariyali Teej', as per Govind Singh’s statement.
