Mobile services resumed in five districts of Jammu

Srinagar: Following the removal of Section 370 of the Constitution granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir, the restrictions imposed to maintain law and order in the state are being relaxed gradually, making the situation normal. At present, mobile phone services have been resumed in five districts of Jammu region - Doda, Kishtwara, Ramban, Rajouri, and Punch. Mobile phone services had been suspended since August 5.

Earlier on Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik had announced that the government was going to launch mobile phones in Kupwara and Handwara districts. In addition, he claimed that phones and internet are used by people, while most of it is used by terrorists.

He has said, "This is a kind of weapon used against us, so we have stopped it." Gradually, the services will be resumed. "Since the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, some restrictions have been imposed in the Valley as security, which is now being removed after normalcy.
