Balrampur: A man was beaten to death by half a dozen people on charges of mobile theft in village Govindpur under Kusmi police station area of Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh. It is said that people were dancing on the DJ at the wedding program. During this, the young man had picked up someone's mobile. After the mobile was recovered from the man, about a dozen people beat him up. Angry over the allegations of mobile theft, the angry people went to the field and beat him to death there. The police have arrested six people in connection with the case. According to the information, Anuranjan Kerketta (22), a resident of village Navdiha in Kusmi police station area, had gone to attend the wedding of the daughter of relative Surendra Minj in Govindpur along with his associates Bijendra Minj and Anand Minj on Wednesday. At around 10 pm on Wednesday night, after the departure of the bride and the bridegroom, the youth of the village were dancing on the DJ. Anuranjan Kerketta also started dancing on DJ with the boys. There were 2 mobile phones there. From this, Anuranjan Kerketta picked up the mobile of Narendra Ram, a young man from Govindpur. After this, Narendra Ram's companions started searching for the mobile. The accused have been identified as Viresh Bada, Prakash Chand, Vinod Bada, Amritram, Roopdev Ram and Narendra Ram. After getting the mobile, the drunk boys started beating Anuranjan Kerketta. Half a dozen youths beat him up and took him to the field and beat him up, accusing him of stealing a mobile phone. Due to this, a young man Viresh Bada strangled Anuranjan. The rest of the boys beat him up with kicks and punches in his face, chest and skull. Anuranjan Kerketta fell unconscious. As soon as the young man became unconscious, the criminals fled from the spot. Anuranjan Kerketta died at night. His body was found in the field the next morning on Thursday. The villagers informed the family members of the deceased about the incident. On receiving the information, the family members reached the Kusmi police station and lodged a report of the incident. Balrampur SP Dr. Lal Umed Singh said that on receiving the news of the incident, a police team was formed under the leadership of SDOP Ritesh Kumar Chaudhary and started searching for the culprits. The accused have been identified as Viresh Bada (25), Roopdev Ram (23), Prakash Chand (18), Vinod Bada (28), Amrit Ram (36) and Narender Ram (32). A case under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
