Shimla: The central government has announced the Luhri Hydro Project in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The Modi cabinet has given its consent to the hydro project. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the cost of this 10 MW project will be Rs 1810 crore which will provide around 775 crore units of electricity every year. This will be through Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam with assistance from the Central and State governments. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that two thousand people will get direct and indirect employment opportunities from Luhri Hydro Project. Himachal Pradesh will get electricity of Rs 1140 crore free of cost and those units which are disrupted, will get 100 units of electricity free every month for 10 years. The Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that four contracts have been signed. There have been agreements with the country between Israel and England on health services. Agreements have been shown up in England regarding telecommunications and ICT. There was also a discussion in the Cabinet that the economy is returning to India. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that there was less demand for electricity in the farming sector due to good rains, even after this the total demand for electricity has increased by 12% and the demand for railway has also increased. At present, the railway service is disrupted in many places. Increased power demand in industries is a good sign. There has been a great GST collection since October last year.
