Modi government sets up 'red carpet' to welcome Ghulam Nabi Azad

New Delhi: In the recent past, the political stir has intensified, meanwhile, in the recent past, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad's proximity to the BJP is seen growing in the midst of increasing distance from the Gandhi family. In a rare development, on Saturday, the Modi government was seen welcoming on the red carpet for Ghulam Nabi Azad. The occasion was Mushaira, an 'India-Best India' organized by the Ministry of Minority Affairs. To express the feeling of Hindustan growing on the path of self-reliant India, Congress was seen with two disgruntled leaders of the Modi government - Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Dr. Jitendra Singh - Ghulam Nabi Azad. Banners and posters of veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad were kept at the venue located at Ambedkar International Centre here.

This was the first time that posters of a Congress leader were seen in the Modi government function held in the capital Delhi. People were surprised to see Ghulam Nabi Azad sitting in the first VVIP like with Modi government's Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh at Ambedkar International Center. Incidentally, in the PMO, Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh and Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad belong to the same state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is worth mentioning that Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has been in the discussions after receiving the praise of PM Modi due to the recent farewell program in Rajya Sabha.

Saturday was the second occasion for Ghulam Nabi Azad, one of the disgruntled Congress leaders of the Rahul Gandhi camp, when he felt appreciated in the Modi government. Ghulam Nabi Azad, once very loyal to Rajiv Gandhi, was not sent again to the Rajya Sabha by Congress. A few days ago, Congress has appointed Mallikarjun Kharge as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha in his place.
