'Modi government's next goal is to regain PoK,', union minister said

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing politics following the repeal of three ambitious agricultural laws of the Central Government, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has briefed about the next step of the PM Narendra Modi-led government. Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh said that the next step of the Union Government is to achieve Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK). He said India is fully prepared for this. Jitendra Singh further said that it was always said that Section 370 applicable in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be removed, but PM Modi did so.

Similarly, Pakistan's illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir will also be withdrawn and the resolution will remain fulfilled, he added. He said the leadership which abolished Section 370 also has the will and the power to withdraw part of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Jitendra Singh said achieving PoK is not just a political issue for the BJP, it is a fight for respect for human rights as well as the national agenda. He said that in PoK, our brothers and sisters are forced to live in inhuman conditions. They are neither being given the facility of education nor are they having basic health facilities.

Underlining the short-sightedness of the then PM Jawaharlal Nehru, Jitendra Singh said that the then Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had merged more than 560 princely states with India at the time of independence. But, he was excluded on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir because PM Nehru wanted to handle Jammu and Kashmir on his own. Jitendra Singh said that if Sardar Patel had been allowed to take action in Jammu and Kashmir also, india's history and geography would have been different today. When Pakistan attacked Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, Nehru had procrastinated in sending troops to Jammu and Kashmir and was stopped when the Indian Army launched an operation to withdraw the PoK.
