New Delhi: The central government has started work on the possibility of launching bullet train projects on seven new routes including Delhi-Varanasi and Delhi-Ahmedabad. A total investment of about Rs 10 lakh crore can be made. A key order has also been issued in the midst of the crisis of the Corona epidemic. According to media reports, the government has issued an order to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) on the possibility of starting work on bullet train projects on the Delhi-Varanasi (865 km), Mumbai-Nagpur (753 km), Delhi-Ahmedabad (886 km), Chennai-Mysore (453 km), Delhi-Amritsar (459 km), Mumbai-Hyderabad (711 km) and Varanasi-Howrah (760 km) route. These will cost around Rs 10 lakh crore. According to the report, Achal Khare, managing director of the National High-Peed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL), said, "The government has asked for a detailed project report (DPR) for these seven new corridors. Only after the DPR is ready can it be determined how much it will cost. There are many factors that are important, such as geographical area, root length. It is also not necessary that the new corridors should be built on the basis of Japanese technology."
