Katihar: Mohammad Saghir, the culprit of raping a 9-year-old girl, was beaten to death by villagers in Bihar's Katihar. The case is of the Hasanganj market of the Hasanganj police station area. The video of the beating is also going viral. In this, villagers are seen tying him to a tree and beating him. After receiving the news, the police reached the spot and rescued Saghir from the crowd. He died on the way to Sadar Hospital for treatment. According to reports, a 9-year-old girl from Hasanganj market was made a victim of his lust by Mohammad Saghir, a resident of the same village, on Wednesday (October 5, 2022). There is an atmosphere of tension in the village since this case. The victim's mother has lodged a case at the local police station. She said in her complaint, ''The girl slept with me on the verandah of the house on Wednesday night. She was not there when I woke up late at night. The people of the house started searching for her. We found my daughter and Mohammad Saghir without clothes near the gas godown in Hasanganj market.'' The same girl reached home and told her family about the whole incident. After that, angry family members and villagers caught Mohammad Saghir and tied him to a palm tree at the village square. Then beat him. The villagers made a video of the beating and made it viral on social media. Hasanganj police station in-charge Ramchandra Mandal said that after receiving the news of the case, the police reached the spot and somehow rescued the culprit from the clutches of the people of the village. He was being taken to Sadar hospital for treatment, but he died on the way. He said that whoever is the culprit in this incident will not be spared. Police have sent the body for post-mortem.
