CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has put all district collectors and district medical officers on high alert after monkeypox disease was reported in non-endemic nations such as Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia. J. Radhakrishnan, Tamil Nadu's health secretary, has issued a circular warning all district collectors to be on the lookout for monkeypox disease and to work with district medical officers to undertake thorough tests on persons who have been to countries where the disease has been detected. In his circular, the state health secretary also advised collectors and district medical officers to be on the lookout for strange rashes on people's bodies, particularly youngsters. Medical officials were also directed by the state health secretary to report all suspected cases to the healthcare centres. All patients must be reported to the Integrated District Surveillance Officer's district surveillance officer. The health administration also instructed district medical officers to transmit blood, sputum, and vesicle fluid to the National Institute of Virology as laboratory samples. It's worth noting that viral zoonotic illness is mostly found in tropical rainforests in Central and West Africa, and it spreads quickly once it infects humans.
