Movie Review: Mamangam Artists: Mammootty, Achuthan, Unni Mukundan, Prachi Tahalan, Siddique, Tarun Arora etc. Director: M Padmakumar Manufacturer: Venu Kunnappilly In Hindi cinema these days, stories of Indian kings confronting the Mughals are being made. After films like Padmavat, Tanaji and Prithviraj, this wave of showing the ferocious face of the Mughals again to the general public has reached Kerala as the film Mamgam. The people of Kerala have earned a lot of money in Dubai. Venu Kunnappilly is also one such businessman who got the idea to make a film on one such desi story after watching the film Bahubali. When the entire family of Kumbh Melas in Kerala became a Muslim by converting to Islam, the story of a suicide squad swearing to kill the Muslim ruler sitting on the throne. Whatever discussion Mammag has received so far is due to its hero Mohammed Kutty Paniparambil Ismail ie Mammootty or due to his own efforts by Punjabi cinema actress Prachi Tahalan. Mammootty has won three national and dozens of other awards for best performance. He is 68 years of age and has started appearing on screen. This is the story of the Chaverukal squads. These suicide squads somehow want to get back their land by killing the Zamorin king. All these squads belong to the Chandroth family living in Valluvandu and the senior Chandroth i.e. Penikar remains just a little far from achieving his goal. Years pass. Now his two sons have the responsibility to fulfill their father's unfulfilled goals. There is no particular curiosity in the Hindi belt about Mamgam. As soon as the film starts from the top, it declares that it does not expect any history lesson. Mammootty, who met in Kochi during the shooting of the film, also told this thing, but his emphasis was on that his character was true. His name is in history. Just the writers have created fantasy scenes to show the heroism of this character. And, it is these fictional scenes in which the film keeps beating from the beginning to the end. Why did Mammootty's impassioned face become his son, Achuthan, even throughout the film, only director M Padmakumar can tell. M Padmakumar is the second director of this film. Sanjeev Pillai, who previously had directing responsibility, dropped out of the film only after the first schedule of the film. Padmakumar may have done something as a director and does not feel like watching the film. The dance directors filmed the songs. Vicky Kaushal's father Sham Kaushal directed all the stunt scenes, but Padmakumar does not have anything else to do, where even when he got a chance he could not get any notable performances from his actors. The role of Prachi Tahalan, who was a national-level netball player, has not been able to expand much like Siddique, the other powerful artist of the film. But, Prachi has made a big impression in her small role. Unni does not have strong dialogues and there is no interest when watching a film of the same action again and again. Achuthan was told that he has been elected after audition of thousands of children, but no such remarkable thing is seen in his action. The weakest aspect of the film is its mediocre special effects. Touted to be the most expensive film in Malayalam cinema, the special effects of Mamgam are gone from any average web series. Music also does not give any special support to the film. Fans can go to watch the film, for the rest of the general audience, this film is not worth any special entertainment.
