IPL 2022: Will Arjun Tendulkar make his debut against Gujarat? Mumbai's head coach replied

New Delhi: Mumbai Indian's (MI)'s performance in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been extremely disappointing. Mumbai is at the last position in the points table by winning just one of the nine matches so far. After being knocked out of the playoff race, five-time champions Mumbai may try to test their bench strength in the upcoming matches keeping the future in mind.

Mi is known as the team that gives a platform to young talent and they have done so continuously for years. This year too, during its poor show, Mumbai has given a chance to young talents like Deviled Brevis, Tilak Verma, Hrithik Shaukeen and Kumar Kartikeya from South Africa to make their debut. In such a situation, all eyes are now on Arjun Tendulkar, who has not got a chance so far. Mumbai Indians are now going to play their next match against Gujarat Titans on May 6. During the press conference on the eve of this match, the team's head coach Mahela Jayawardene shared his thoughts on the possibility of Arjun Tendulkar making his debut.

Mahela Jayawardene further said, "Well, I think every team has options. We'll see how things move forward. It's about match-ups and how we can win matches. Our priority is to make sure we get the right match-ups.'' Jayawardene said, "Every game is a matter of confidence. We managed to register our first win and it's about winning together and getting the confidence back. The best players are fielded. If Arjuna is one of them, we will consider it. But it all depends on the team combination."
