Murmu arrives at Madurai, Grace Mahashivaratri celebrations

Madurai: India President Droupadi Murmu reached Madurai airport on Saturday. She graced the Mahashivratri celebration organised by the Isha Foundation at Coimbatore. 

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi extended a hearty welcome to President Droupadi Murmu who is on a 2-day visit to the state, starting today.

Governor Ravi offered a warm greeting to our Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, on her first visit to our holy land of Saints, Sages, and Poets.

 President Murmu will speak to the 78th Staff Course on February 19 at the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington. President Murmu will also visit the Meenakshi Amman shrine in Madurai to get the blessings of Lord Meenakshi Amman.  President will  also participate in the Annadhana program after completing the Swami Darshan at the temple.

Meanwhile, The security squad is also compiling information on persons residing in Madurai's hotels. Passenger security checks have also been stepped up at airports and train terminals. 

On February 17 and 18, the Madurai district has also banned the use of drones in the air.
