India President Droupadi Murmu meets with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Prior to the start of Queen Elizabeth II's official funeral in the UK. Murmu, a resident of Bangladesh, met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in London on Monday. President Murmu visited Westminster Hall in London on Sunday and paid respects to the late British monarch on behalf of the Indian government and the Indian people. President Murmu is in London for a three-day visit to attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II scheduled for Westminster Abbey on Monday. Prior to the start of the State Funeral in London, President Droupadi Murmu met with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, and her sister, Sheikh Rehana, as per a tweet from Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President's official Twitter account. President Murmu had previously attended the reception held at Buckingham Palace by King Charles III of the United Kingdom. The head of state of India, who arrived on Saturday night, will attend a solemn ceremony at Westminster Abbey to bid farewell to Britain's longest-reigning monarch alongside about 500 other foreign leaders, including US President Joe Biden. The late queen's funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey in London after she passed away at her Balmoral estate in Scotland at the age of 96. Senior royals will congregate discreetly as the Queen and her late husband are laid to rest in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, a section of the chapel.
