NEW DELHI: India President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to undertake a 2-day visit to Odisha on February 10, 11. The President will attend the second convocation of Rama Devi Women’s University in the state capital during her 2-day visit to the state, an official statement read. The President has already expressed interest in attending the convocation of her alma mater and had written to the Governor and Chancellor of the University, Ganeshi Lal, indicating her readiness for the same. According to the President's schedule, she will arrive in Bhubaneswar on February 10 at around 11.45 am and join a celebration honouring the mission's founding day. In the afternoon, she is set to attend the Rama Devi Women's University's Second Convocation. Notably, the President completed her graduation from Rama Devi Women’s College in 1979. On its inaugural convocation after the college was transformed into a full-fledged university, she was awarded an honorary degree. President Murmu likely to visit Madurai Meenakshi temple on February 18: With another schedule, President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Chennai on February 18 to take part in the Maha Sivaratri celebrations at the Isha Yoga Center. She is also expected to pay a visit to the renowned Madurai Meenakshi shrine. The source said, the temple has already undertaken security precautions. On February 18, the President will likely arrive to the temple at noon and participate in the 'puja' there. She will leave for Coimbatore in a special aircraft to attend the Maha Shivaratri celebrations at the Isha yoga centre in the city. This will be the first visit of President Murmu to Madurai after assuming the office.
