New Delhi: The Ministry of Women and Child Development requested nominations for the Nari Shakti Puraskar 2021, which will honour outstanding achievements in the sectors of economic and social empowerment of women, a news issued on Thursday read. According to a release issued by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, applications or nominations will be accepted only through online mode and may be filed at the portal www.awards.gov.in. All nominations received up to January 31, 2022, will be considered for the Nari Shakti Puruskar for the year 2021. The Ministry of Women and Child Development will award the Nari Shakti Puraskar-2021 on March 8, 2022, which is International Women's Day. Every year, the Ministry of Women and Child Development awards the Nari Shakti Puraskar to individuals and institutions for their contributions to the cause of women empowerment, particularly for vulnerable and marginalised women. The award comes with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh every awardee, according to the press release.Individuals and institutions are eligible to apply, and a total of 15 awards (individual and institutional) may be given out.
